Maintaining Sanitary Sewer Lines
The Village maintains 135,000 feet of sanitary sewer lines. Sanitary sewer is separate from stormwater (rain). Sanitary sewer collects water from sinks, showers, toilets, etc. Regular maintenance includes:
- Main line maintenance
- Jetting (cleaning of pipes)
- Closed circuit televising (used to identify potential flaws in the pipe)
- Root cutting and debris cleaning
- Pipe rehabilitation and lining as necessary
Bayside is on of 28 satellite communities that are served by the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District (MMSD). All sanitary sewer is eventually sent to a treatment plant. For more information, visit the MMSD website.
