Passport to Sustainability
Are you ready to practice sustainability all year long? In an effort to encourage and promote sustainable initiatives within the community, the Village developed the Bayside Passport to Sustainability Program. This program is filled with sustainable and environmentally friendly activities, designed for participants of all ages.
Through a digital reporting system, each completed activity will earn the participant points that will be tracked and tallied. Participants can earn four different passport tiers based on accumulated points. To reach a tier, you must earn the associated points:
- Platinum: 50 points
- Gold: 35 points
- Silver: 20 points
- Bronze: 10 points
While some activities are seasonal, the program has no deadline, allowing for continuous participation and the addition of new activities. We also hope that you will come back to the program for inspiration and encouragement to continue these practices into your day-to-day life.
How to Get Started?
To begin, create an account on our digital reporting platform here.
- Make sure the information enter belongs to the Passport Holder to ensure accurate tracking of points.
- Once you have created your account, you can select the activity or activities you wish to complete and submit. Make sure you scroll down to the bottom of the page and hit ‘next’ to make sure your activities were submitted.
- After activities have been submitted, we will keep track of what you have completed and how many points you have earned.
Recognition and Prizes!
Each quarter, participants who successfully complete the program will be sent passport certificates via email as well as receive a mention of recognition in the Bayside Buzz.
Any new participant who achieves a Gold or Platinum passport will be automatically entered into an annual raffle. A winner will be announced in early fall. All giveaway items will have a sustainable or environmental focus.
Activities
Take a look at the list of activities within the packet for more details including what the activities are, the points associated with their completion, why the activity is important, and how you will report completing it.
More activities may be added throughout the year, so be sure to check back often for new experiences!
Time to go green and have fun, Bayside!
