MMSD Public Open House

The Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewage District will soon begin the reconstruction of sanitary sewer infrastructure on Brown Deer Road between Regent Road and the Union Pacific railroad.   Below is a tentative timeline and impacts for the project.

• Stage 1 – January/ February – south side of Brown Deer Road closed. One lane of traffic in each direction will remain open on north side of Brown Deer Road during construction.  Eastbound Brown Deer Road to Northbound Regent Road as well as Southbound Regent Road to Eastbound Brown Deer Road will be open.
• Stage 2 – March – Portions of the Regent Road/Brown Deer Road intersection as well as the south side of Brown Deer Road will be closed.  One lane of traffic in each direction will remain open on north side of Brown Deer Road during construction.  Eastbound Brown Deer Road to Northbound Regent Road as well as Southbound Regent Road to Eastbound Brown Deer Road will be open.  The south side of Regent Road and Brown Deer Road Intersection will be closed.  Traffic will not be able to travel from Westbound Brown Deer Road to Southbound Regent Road or Eastbound Brown Deer Road to Southbound Regent Road.
• Stage 3 – April – Portions of the Regent Road/Brown Deer Road intersection as well as the south side of Brown Deer Road will be closed.  The public will have limited access to Bayside Garden Center as well as resident access from the West. A posted detour including Port Washington Road and Green Tree Road detour will be utilized.  Traffic will not be able to travel from Westbound Brown Deer Road to Southbound Regent Road or Eastbound Brown Deer Road to Southbound Regent Road.
• Stage 4  – April/ May – Portions of the Regent Road/Brown Deer Road intersection as well as the south side of Brown Deer Road will be closed.  The public will have limited access to Bayside Garden Center as well as resident access from the East.  A posted detour including Port Washington Road and Green Tree Road detour will be utilized.  Traffic will not be able to travel from Westbound Brown Deer Road to Southbound Regent Road or Eastbound Brown Deer Road to Southbound Regent Road.
• Stage 5 – June and July – Portions of the Regent Road/Brown Deer Road intersection as well as the south side of Brown Deer Road will be closed.  One lane of traffic in each direction will remain open on north side of Brown Deer Road during construction.  Traffic will not be able to travel from Westbound Brown Deer Road to Southbound Regent Road or Eastbound Brown Deer Road to Southbound Regent Road.

Traffic to Bayside Garden Center will be available throughout construction.  With any construction, the stages are fluid as construction progresses and subject to weather.   A public information meeting will be held on December 5 at 6 p m at Bayside Village Hall.
